Speakers are not yet not confirmed (possibly Fr. Sami Totah of Ramallah or Fr. Barrios Sheikh). Annemarie or Emily Jacir of Bethlehem and Mark Khano (a recent visitor from Jerusalem), plus an al-awda member to read the statements of the Palestinian Church leaders.

LET NEW YORKERS KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON IN PALESTINE THIS HOLIDAY SEASON. Participants will be led in a silent march around Rockefeller Center by a group of Guerrilla theater members. Signs of the deceased will be distributed.

The Not in Our Name Coalition is a New York based coalition of Jews committed to the preservation of the human rights of all people. They will be sponsoring a rally and candlelight vigil in coordination with Jewish groups around the world.

On Human Rights Day, Dec.10, there will be a walk, candlelight vigil, music, etc. and members of the Pine Ridge Lakota nation will be present. Noon: Union Square; Walk to the U.N. or come to the U.N. at 2pm for the vigil and program, at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza, E 47 Street, between First and Second Aves.

The lecture will be held at the International Action Center, 39 West 14th street on the 2nd floor, Tuesday December 5th at 7:00 pm. The lecture will be a slide showing of his work and that of other artists.

The lecture consists of a slideshow outlining the living conditions of Palestinian refugeees, the effects of housing demolitions and "rubber bullets." There will also be a brief presentation of the history behind the conflict.

Salman Abu-Sitta, former member of the Palestine National Council, founder of the Canadian Arab Federation and world leading research authority on Palestinian refugees, was the featured speaker at a forum at The New School.

200 people will lie down on the ground in silence for 15 minutes, simulating the corpses of each of the Palestinians killed by Israel since September 29. Each body will hold a sign, bearing the name of one of the massacred.

A newly formed group of Palestinian and Israeli artists (and others) who call themselves ArtAction held an event in Union Square in Manhattan. The event consisted of drawing in chalk on the pavement the body outline of all the victims of the latest violence in Palestine, their name, their age, and an X marking where they were shot. coverage and photos
