JOINT CFL/AL AWDA ALERT: ASK YOUR REPRESENTATIVES TO STOP INTEL FROM
BUILDING A PLANT ON ILLEGALLY OCCUPIED PALESTINIAN LAND
Recent newspaper reports indicate that, Intel, one of the largest chip-makers in the world, plans on building a $3.5 billion plant next to its
existing facility in 'Kiryat Gat'. The extra plant will be built on
land that belongs to the Palestinian village of Iraq Al Manshiya.
According to Zionist historian Benny Morris, Israel expelled the
villagers of Iraq Al Manshiya by "intimidation using all means."
*Tell your representatives that you are opposed to American companies
investing in illegally occupied land. Educate your representatives by
telling them that Israel forced out the original inhabitants of Iraq Al-Manshiya and the nearby village of Al-Faluja after the 1948 war ended
contrary to international law and an armistice agreement sponsored by
the UN and which Israel signed. Tell your representatives that you
resent American companies who continue to assist Israel's flouting of
the law and that as a tax paying citizen you believe that given
Israel's apartheid policies, continuing abuses of fundamental human
rights, and violations of International Law, Intel and all American
companies should divest from Israel forthwith
*Tell your elected officials that you are outraged that American
companies profit from the illegal dispossession of Palestinians. Israel
is denying Palestinian refugees their right to return to their lands
and homes which it is occupying. This natural and inalienable right is
enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and
International Law, and is supported by numerous UN resolutions. Remind
your representatives that if Intel goes through with their plans they
will be an American company who is actively participating in the
violation of international law by being complicit in the Israeli terror
which drove the Palestinians off of their land in 1948.
*Tell your representatives that they should be encouraging American
companies to invest in the U.S., particularly the areas ravaged by
Hurricane Katrina which provide more attractive long-term helpful options for
building and expanding and remind them that building in the U.S. is in
the best interest of the American economy and Intel's customers,
shareholders and employees.
